The SmartElectronix people put out a plugin a long long time ago called sMexoscope. It is an oscilloscope plugin that allows you to see real time what’s going on with your signals in a DAW. Toss it in AULab (available from Apple’s Core Audio SDK) or in Logic Pro and you can see just what is going on with… oh say a Synthesizer plugin you’re working on.
This thing is ESSENTIAL for anyone doing sound design or CoreAudio based DSP work. Fire this baby up and watch while you twist knobs on your synth to get a view of just what the parameters you’re twiddling do to the waveform.
